My way of nyckelharpa making is based on a model close to the traditional nyckelharpa, but I was influenced a lot by the construction of instruments in the violin family. The distance between the end of the tailpiece/stringholder where you rest your arm and the good spot for the hair to go against the strings are almost always too short for a man of my design.
